Aim of the Session:

To ensure that practitioners gain the knowledge and skills required to safely and competently perform and/or interpret spirometry tests adhering to ARTP standards.

Face-to-Face & eLearning Spirometry Courses:

Foundation Certificate in Spirometry. Choose from adults only, paediatrics only or adults and paediatrics (nb f2f courses will cover adults and paediatrics)

This course is suitable for practitioners who perform spirometry without interpreting the results. You will learn about quality control and quality assurance, understand the appropriate use of spirometry, and learn how to obtain acceptable and reproducible measurements of dynamic lung volumes all in line with ARTP standards.

Interpretation Certificate. Choose from adults only, paediatrics only or adults and paediatrics (nb f2f courses will cover adults and paediatrics)

This course is suitable for people who do not perform spirometry but need to interpret the results, learning the knowledge on how to do this effectively as well as a background of understanding of disease processes and its effect on results.

Full Certificate in Spirometry. Choose from adults only, paediatrics only or adults and paediatrics (nb f2f courses will cover adults and paediatrics)

This course is for practitioners who are performing spirometry and interpreting the results. You will learn about quality control and quality assurance, understand the appropriate use of spirometry, and learn how to obtain acceptable and reproducible measurements of dynamic lung volumes all in line with ARTP standards. You will analyse normal and abnormal patterns and be able to explain the relationship between patho-physiological changes in the lung and the measurements obtained in spirometry. 

Spirometry Update (adults performing AND interpretation). eLearning only

This course is for practitioners who have previously completed a spirometry course but who would benefit from a refresher course. 
The online e-learning courses (available immediately) are delivered on a virtual learning platform and include presentations with audio, quizzes, and resources. To allow you to revisit the material and complete at your own pace you will have 6 months from enrolment for the foundation and full certificates and 3 months for the interpretation certificate. You can request ZOOM tutorials and email support at any point. Competency assessments are included. For those attending face-to-face training, you will also be given access to the eLearning portal post study days.
