Course: Immunisation Foundation Course for HCSWs
In line with the Public Health England National Minimum Training Standards
The National Standards for HCA’s and Assistant practitioners (2015) Please click to read . This document addresses the minimum standards of training for HCSWs for the delivery of Influenza (via the IM route to adults ONLY), Shingles (both Zostavax and Shingrix vaccinations) and Pneumococcal (PPV23) vaccinations to adults, and intranasal influenza vaccine to children only.
Supervision: HCSWs involved in immunisation services must have an identified supervisor and ongoing supervision by a registered, appropriately trained, experienced and knowledgeable practitioner in immunisation. Course aim: The course is packaged to equip all our HCSWs workforce with the knowledge and skills required to deliver the immunisations programmes covered by the national training standards for HCSWs.
