Aim of the Session:

  • To provide the background theory related to the skin, its function and the process of wound healing.
  • To provide information on dressing types and their application in practice.
  • To have an understanding of the professional responsibilities when caring for patients living with wounds.

Nurses and other registered clinical staff

Course Summary:

  • Anatomy and Physiology of the skin revision.
  • Identifying wound infection and action.
  • Assessment method - TIMES.
  • Having an overview of dressings and their role in wound care.
  • Understanding of good skin care and the use of emollients.
