Important announcement:

There are new ways of Leg ulcer training in Surrey, your local areas may still be delivering the 2 day Doppler and Compression training followed by sessions to complete competencies. However if this is not available for you or if you feel remote / online learning is more suited to you, you may choose to complete modules on e-learning for health and work through a Leg Ulcer workbook created by Pauline Robinson , the TVN Lead in North-West Surrey. Once staff completed the workbook, you will have the opportunity to attend North-West leg ulcer / complex wound clinic / shadow TVN or TVN attend PN to supervise Dopplers / compression to gain competencies. There will also be Compression & Doppler Update sessions for those who already have underlying competencies, run by Sam Lane ICB TVN and dates will be available to book on Surrey training hub soon. Here are link to Guildford and Waverley TVN training for 2025 and 2026. For more information, please get in touch with syheartlandsicb.surreywounds@nhs.net

New Practice Nurse Wound Management Forum

Welcome to our new virtual wound management forum open to all practice nurses and others in Primary Care, involved with wound management. We aim to meet three times a year to keep up to date with best practice in wound care. Plus at each forum we aim to look at a wound  case study from any nurse who would like advice, help or just an opportunity to learn from others. The Community Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist will be available to provide input and advice at the forum so a good opportunity to get your wound management questions answered.

We would like all members of the forum to be working through or have completed this training Wound Care Education for the Health and Care Workforce - elearning for healthcare as part of membership of this forum. We would also like members to view this video   NHS RightCare Long Term Condition Scenarios: Betty’s story, wound care.
