General Practice Assistant Programme

Calling all non-clinical staff employed in administrative and receptionist roles.

General Practice Assistants (GPAs) are integral members of a multidisciplinary team operating within primary care settings. They fulfil a supportive function by managing administrative tasks, sometimes supplemented with basic clinical responsibilities, thereby alleviating some of the workload for GPs. This contributes to more efficient appointment scheduling and enhances the overall patient experience at the surgery. Now enrolling for GP Assistant Programme.

I, the undersigned agree and acknowledge my role and responsibilities as a GP Mentee participating in the Surrey Heartlands Supporting Mentors Scheme.

I commit to:

Attending up to six mentoring appointments arranged at a mutually convenient time with the GP Mentor.

Communicating with the mentor if you are unable to attend the appointment with at least 2 days notice.

Support programme evaluation and feedback, to contribute to the ongoing development of the Supporting Mentors Scheme.

Confidentiality – appointments are confidential and will be related to personal and professional career development, not clinical competence.

Reporting any concerns so they can be escalated. Concerns or queries may be raised to syheartlandsicb.surreytraininghub@nhs.net
