Diabetic Foot Checks (GPN and HCAs)

07/03/2023 13:00 - 14:30

Foot disease affects nearly 6% of people with diabetes and includes infection, ulceration, or destruction of tissues of the foot. It can impair patients' quality of life and affect social participation and livelihood. Between 0.03% and 1.5% of patients with diabetic foot require an amputation. Annual foot check by a trained healthcare professional significantly reduces the risk of foot complications in patients living with Diabetes. This is also one of the care processes. All people with diabetes aged 12 years and over should receive all of the nine NICE recommended care processes. The National Diabetes Audit report revealed that 85.9% with Type 2 Diabetes in England received foot checks. Dr Anita Raina is committed to increasing awareness about Foot care in Diabetes. Please book on her training session to learn about Diabetic foot checks.

This session will be held virtually; the link will be emailed from the trainer a week prior to the training.
